Midterm project: Mapping Medieval Manuscripts

I analyzed the Oxford Library’s collection of medieval manuscripts and created an interactive map showcasing which types of manuscripts were most common in each country included in the collection.

  1. Greetings Lily (or, perhaps, The Sheep of Yore)
I, too, share your pain of wishing for more time on the project. For what it is worth, I think your project shows promise that, given enough time, could be a project people would gain real insights from. While you mentioned the process of presentation was frustrating, it seems you took the right steps getting the data wrangled and into a presentable form. Also, very sorry about the migraine !

  2. Hi Lily! I was really impressed with your project—you did a really nice job presenting your data in a simple yet engaging way, which must have been difficult given how much data you had to start. I found the style of your map super cool, and I found the pie charts to work really well with the subject. You noted that you went through and deleted rows / columns—did you do all your data cleaning manually? If so, kudos to you! Great work with this!
