Group members: Matilda, Mandy, and Lily
Values
Our shared values include effective communication, accountability and respect. We will uphold these values by keeping each other updated on our processes, holding ourselves and teammates accountable, as well as treating each other with kindness and respect. Our shared goals include working together to create a successful text analysis of locations in the Carletonian, and learning and collaborating with each other during the process.
Expectations
We expect a timely response toward ideas or issues raised within the group. We expect a responsible attitude toward tasks assigned to each group member. We expect support from each other when facing challenges.
communication
We will communicate via text in a shared group chat. We will make sure to notify each other of any updates and/or issues that come up, and we will clearly discuss each other’s schedules while figuring out time to work on or meet about our project. While we would like to meet in person to work on the project, we will recognize that this isn’t always possible, and we will make sure to call or text each other about the project if an in person meeting doesn’t work. Additionally, although we will have personal responsibilities, those are not strictly set in stone—we will agree to ask questions and help each other if we’re ever struggling.
Disagreements
When there is a disagreement, we will express our ideas and the points that we have concerns. Then we will think about each other’s position and try to understand the reason for the disagreement. Finally we will talk and work together to an ultimate consensus solution.
division of responsibilities
We talked about our different strengths and weaknesses, including creativity, learning how to use new tools, coding, and using WordPress. We acknowledged each other’s different skillsets and divided responsibilities accordingly.
Mandy’s responsibilities will be figuring out the tools (and or code) for data analysis.
Matilda’s responsibilities will be designing the website as well as creative aspects and visualizations of our project, including the creative parts of the map or graph.
Lily’s responsibilities will be posting updates—including blog and lab assignments—to WordPress as well as figuring out the technical aspects of our final project domain.
Our shared responsibilities will include finding sources, looking at and cleaning data, writing updates and any other processes that are necessary for our project. We plan to divide the labor once we have a clearer vision of what our sources will be.
