In general, I love to journal and simply jot down information. A blog is kind of similar to that, but more public. So, I could vision this site to discuss my thoughts and feelings about certain topics, more so within academic subjects that interest me! I also find it important stay informed on new, so I’d think about discussing something new I learned or came across on the Internet. I think I will also use this platform to showcase some of my creations from this course as well. Considering that I also take quite a few humanities and social science courses, I could possibly blog about a concept I found intriguing from a reading, lecture, or class discussion. I am a big music fan too, so I would maybe post about my opinions on certain albums/songs or genres.
With managing my own website, I will have more authority over what I want my page to look like and how I want it to function. It’s solely my responsibility. I have to ensure that necessary information is up to date. It’s important that the material I post is of high quality. To add on, it is truly my responsibility to make my site visually appealing to anybody who comes across it. For example, on my website, I worked with the CSS element to italicize my name! I plan on adjusting/editing a few more things on my website to improve its presentation. First impressions definitely exist! However, when I sign up for a service or social media platform, my main priority is about the quality of work I’m putting out. I do not have to worry about website details, functions, or any other problems with the database for the site. Though, with my personal website, all of the components mentioned become my responsibility.
