Let There Be Weitz — Final Project Charter

  • What are your shared values? Shared goals?

We want to present a thoroughly researched project on the old Northfield High School, with documentation of the relationship between it and the Weitz Building. In creating our 3D model and map, we value accuracy to the architecture of the old Northfield High School building; that being said, we also value reasonable creative liberty wherever we cannot find sufficient data to go off of.

We also have shared questions such as:
Was the Weitz created to be a solely creative/artistic facility? Why?

Why was Hassenstab repurposed?

Were there other proposals for its replacement?

  • What do you expect from one another?

We expect to effectively communicate with one another for scheduling and sharing content or data. We trust each other to pull our own respective weight in the project, but we expect to hold ourselves accountable for the roles that we accept.

  • How will you communicate?

We have been emailing each other thus far but we also, as of today, have shared phone numbers and created a shared group chat. We shall continue to share documents, data, and photos through email. The group chat, meanwhile, will be used for scheduling and more generic communications.

  • How will your team handle disagreement?

We expect to handle disagreements as a team: if there is something a bit more pressing, we can put it to a vote and go from there. Again, we expect to keep an open line of communication with each other because the strength of the project relies on clear understanding of our respective progress with each of our components. In any case where a disagreement continues to an unprecedented and disruptive degree, may seek help or clarification from Austin.

  • How will you divide responsibility? Is someone responsible for calling meetings? Cleaning data? Designing the website? Assess and share your own strengths and weaknesses.

We have generally assessed who will take on what aspect of the project so far: Akweley will gather photos of the Weitz exterior and has already created several files (docs/sheets) for later use; Kate has already submitted the form for the cPanel site creation and has taken up the eventual task of designing the site; Mason is searching for the floorplans and photos of the old high school building; Michael and I (Max) intend on creating the 3D model of the building in two halves. All of us will search for some leads – articles, people of interest, etc. – on where we can find photos or information on the old building and the construction of the Weitz Center. While we have been quite communicative thus far and passed around ideas and responsibilities without much issue, I will be in consistent contact with everybody to schedule meetings when necessary.
