Goals and Expectations
What are your shared values? Shared goals?
Our goals are:
- Maintain regular and civil communication
- Communicate if something isn’t working correctly or if we’re struggling
- Finish and turn in assignments on time
- Refrain from expecting others to do our portion of the work
- Create a clean and interesting final project
What will you expect from each other?
We will expect clear communication on meeting times, any progress we’ve made, and any issues we run into, so we can help each other if necessary. We will also expect everyone to stick to the deadlines set by the group and Austin.
How will you communicate?
We will communicate both over text messages and in-person. We will meet up and collaboratively write every blog and lab post together, but quick questions and minor concerns will be handled over text messages.
How will your team handle disagreement?
We will maintain respectful communication and if needed, we will abide by the results of a majority vote.
Strengths, Weaknesses, and Work
Division of Labor
We will all be responsible for a portion of the data cleaning. Sabrina will be responsible for extracting and cleaning the data from the Junior recitals, while Lily and Maina are responsible for the Senior recitals.
Once the data is ready, Lily will be responsible for mapping the data, while Maina and Sabrina create the presentation. We will not expect one person to be responsible for calling all our meetings and instead expect meetings to be called as deemed necessary which will most likely be before major deadlines.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Lily’s strength is her experience with ArcGIS and mapping, as she used ArcGIS for her midterm. Her weakness is that she does not like making things aesthetically pleasing.
Maina’s strength is her experience with cleaning large data sets, while her weakness lies within making things look nice and neat.
Sabrina’s strength is their aesthetic design experience with Google Docs, while their weakness is the speed, or lack thereof, with which they clean data sets.
