Mapping Carleton Recruiting Team Charter

Group Members: Brayden, Evan, Jake, Myles, Faimon

What are your shared values? Shared goals?

Our goals are:

  • Communicate regularly and respectfully.
  • Let each other know when we are struggling or need help.
  • Finish our work and turn in assignments on time.
  • Make sure everyone contributes their fair share.
  • Create a clear and interesting website showing where Carleton athletes come from.

What will you expect from each other?

We expect everyone to complete their part on time and keep the group updated on their progress. If someone runs into a problem, they should let the group know early so we can help. Everyone should contribute ideas and be willing to listen to others for the better of the group.

How will you communicate?

We will communicate through a group chat and meet in person when needed. We will use class time to check our progress and work together on group assignments. Quick questions and updates will be talked about in the group chat unless we need to meet to talk about it.

How will your team handle disagreement?

We will listen to everyone’s ideas and keep disagreements respectful. We will talk through the options and decide what works best for the project. If we cannot agree, we will use a majority vote. We are all teammates so we are used to working through challenges with one another.

Division of Labor

Brayden and Jake will design the website and organize how we present our results. Myles will create the map and visualization. Evan and Faimon will collect the roster data and organize it in spreadsheets. Everyone will help check and clean the data before it goes into the visualization.

Anyone can call a meeting when they think we need one, especially before the due dates and before class. We will all review the final project and help with anything that still needs work.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Brayden and Jake will focus on website design, Myles will focus on mapping and visualization, and Evan and Faimon will focus on collecting and organizing data. These roles give everyone a specific part of the project to take responsibility for.

We will each share which parts of our role we feel comfortable with and which parts we need help learning. If someone struggles with a tool or takes longer than expected, we will help each other and adjust the work as needed.
