Process
Trying to create my website for this weeks lab was pretty stressful and I got frustrated more than a few times. Although the initial creation of the site was straightforward, I spent lots of time trying to make everything look the way I wanted it to, leading to tabs and text being formatted incorrectly or not showing up. Sometimes I’d think I’d delete a tab from my site, install a new template and see it again once I load up the new site. I eventually decided to stick with the default theme and get update things as needed, and I plan to revisit the decoration of it again soon.
Future + potential drawbacks
Despite all that though I’m still looking forward to what i could do with the website. If i had to say, I think I’d mainly use it as a place to update things going on within my school life, such as monthly updates with classes, or fun events over vacation (winter break, spring break). If possible I’d like to keep it open as long as possible or keep what’s in it if I really enjoy the gallery of memories
Although owning a website allows creativity and ownership over that domain, It still comes with needing the responsibility of ensuring safety/privacy to its users, as well as updating its content overtime. For someone without the time or resources to invest into their website, things could eventually break down. Additionally, trying to advertise said website in the beginning stages of it could also be an issue if it Isn’t something people are aware of or would be looking for normally.
